A Trip to the Dairy September 29, 2010

Not that I really thought dairy cows led the good life…but…wow.  Dairies are disgusting.  I’m glad we don’t drink milk anyway!  Nonetheless, this was really an awesome field trip…enjoyed by all…thanks only to Grami…we could never have pulled it off without her.

Review Week September 27, 2010

We needed a little time out from new stuff to review this week.  We used resources from all over the internet (sorry, I am playing catch up, so I don’t have any idea where most of these ideas came from any more…I will try to get better at giving credit where it is due…but in the meantime, know that I have almost no original ideas…so thank you to all of the creative minds who helped us have a fun week!) and based our week off of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr.

I was surprised how helpful it was to go back and review something as simple (to me!) as the alphabet…Parker was just sure he deserved a break after putting together the WHOLE ALPHABET!!

Tristan got to help sing the ABC song, learn his numbers, and help with color mixing.  While Parker and I both miss the quiet and calm we had last year for preschool with Tristan napping, it has been truly delightful (some days that is translated as “stressful”!!) to have him along for the ride this year.

Where’s the Wind? September 24, 2010

We had fun building a weather vane today…but aside from Tristan running away from the camera, there was no breeze to test it out.

Dylan’s Awake!

Dylan sleeps so much and the others are so busy it is easy to forget to take pictures during the small windows of time when he’s awake…but he is always around making us smile when he’s not sweetly sleeping.

Apples! September 15, 2010

There is just something special about the start of the school year, the Fall season, fresh crisp apples, and this little boy that makes me smile!

Parker and I got to visit an apple orchard today (alone thanks to Grami watching the little guys!).

Later we made apple crisp, ate caramel apples (Papa’s idea!), and made an apple craft.

I Knew It Couldn’t Last September 14, 2010

Painting a few days ago was so clean and peaceful…it was just too good to be true.  Today was a good day not to get dressed before school…but oh what fun they had!!

Four Season Tree September 10, 2010

Today we painted a tree trying to show all four seasons at once.  Almost all the paint even ended up on paper!

Native American Painting September 8, 2010

Today we made paint from things we found in nature.  Parker had fun until he found a slug…much more interesting.  Tristan had a blast once Parker disappeared and he could spill dump everything.  Mommy had fun avoiding the slug and cleaning up the mess :).

First Day of Kindergarten

Parker’s first day of kindergarten was fun for all (perhaps most of all for me…it’s like I’m a little girl playing school teacher again…).  Tristan was overjoyed to be included.  Dylan was exhausted from the pure excitement of it all ;).

Are You Ready For This? September 1, 2010

Filed under: Family Fun — Jessi @ 9:15 PM

OK…so as usual with me…life got in the way of my wonderful plan to keep my life documented for posterity (and for whoever cares to check in on us in the present!).  Nevertheless, I still want to make it work.  So because I am apparently incapable of ignoring what’s been left out since I last posted and making this an easy task to tackle, I am going to pick up where I left off and make retroactive postings (starting with this post written in April 2011 but published as of September 2010!).  In the interest of time, I am afraid I will have to be a little more picky about what pictures I use instead of posting every cute picture I come across (ahhh…but will I??), but hopefully I can capture at least some of the fun we’ve had over the past 6 months.  And…go…
